Streets of…7 cities in 7 minutes is a video/sound art project stemming from an artist’s journey around the world to explore the collective ancestral memories of the places
Streets of… 7 cities in 7 minutes is an innovative moving image project,
conceived by Alda Terracciano in 2004, which follows the artist’ sensory journey through the streets of seven cities around the world: Naples (Italy), Shanghai (China), Mumbai (India), Tangier (Morocco), Lisbon (Portugal), Salvador (Brazil) and London (UK).
It was presented for the first time in its complete form during the London 2012 Olympic Games at the Greenwich Peninsula Festival as a site specific installation presented by ALDATERRA Projects in collaboration with Stream Arts.
As part of its legacy, the project has inspired a live and online creative engagement programme called the Living Archaeology of the Place. The aim is to stimulate people’s reflection and creative contributions on questions of home, migration, shared cultural heritage and relational arts. To learn more about it visit ALDATERRA website
